I have always been fascinated by the attacks of the birds of pray on pigeons. Every new attack remains in your memory for years, some of them forever. The adrenaline of those moments is incredible and when the bird tricks the raptor and survives it gives you a great satisfaction.

In this article I will collect movies with peregrine falcons and hawks attacking pigeons – only the best of them. If you know such a movie missing from this collection, please let me know about it!

Nice video on peregrines and pigeons and how they evolved in the same time, in a perfect balance that in the end works under the same old rule of nature: survival of the fittest. The fittest pigeon survives and breeds. The same happens with the falcons.

Barcelona International Pigeon Race 2010

In the Barcelona International 2010 Pigeon Race there were a total of 25.878 pigeons from the following countries:
- Belgium 12.657
- Holland 7.016
- France 2.998
- Germany 1.957
- United Kingdom 670
- Poland 521
- Luxenbourg 59
The liberation was at 9:45 AM.

“Taking on Tyson” – Animal Planet show featuring Mike Tyson and racing pigeons!

Animal Planet will start filming a new TV SHOW, “Taking on Tyson“, a show about the world of racing pigeons!

Mike Tyson, the famous boxer has been a pigeon fancier for 20 years. Not many of us knew that his first fight was in childhood to protect his pigeons. Although he was breeding fancy pigeons – rollers, seems like he will start with racing pigeons and compete with the best fanciers from New York.

The show producers say that we’ll discover a new face of Mike and the fascinating world of racing pigeons, so little known by people. They will film during 2010 and the show will be on TV starting from 2011. I am so damn excited about this! I’m looking forward to seeing it!!! It is the first time when Animal Planet will consider our hobby and have a special TV show for this – I bet they will get a lot of fans, in fact all the pigeon fanciers around the world will love the show… they will get thousands of crazy fans.

If everything will be as expected, this will be the best thing ever happened for the promotion of the racing pigeons sport. Tyson says he’s glad to be back on the roofs of NY’s buildings, where it all started for him many years ago.

If that movie with hamsters made the kids rush in the petshop and buy all the rodents stock available… imagine what this show can do for the racing pigeons hobby!!!
