Back in those days…1913

So here we are in 2013. How was the hobby back in those days of 1913? Were they using supplements, “preventive medication”? Were they having thousands $$$ auctions?

I’ll bet you feed was a lot cheaper. A new clock was about .35 cents. There was no such thing as vaccinating or preventative treatment. Training was done by bicycle or railroad if you were lucky once maybe twice a week. Day birds on the 500 and 600 mile races unheard of. Now a days you need to take out a second mortgage for a new clock and some pigeon food.
Oh how times have changed. :)
